HOW TO REACH MARIBOR

By Car

Maribor is located at the crossroads to Graz (Austria), Zagreb (Croatia), Ljubljana (capitol of Slovenia) and Klagenfurt (Austria). In terms of travel distance, travelling by car is recommended from Graz (1hr) and from Ljubljana, Zagreb and Klagenfurt (1hr 30 min). Travelling from Vienna and Trieste will took 2 hrs and 30 min. The location of the Hotel Habakuk is indicated on all roads leading to the centre of Maribor. There are two parking options at the Habakuk Convention Centre: an indoor parking lot and an outdoor parking lot. By Train

Maribor lies in the middle of the old classic Austrian Southern railway line (Südbahn) formerly operating from Vienna to Italy. The city is well connected by rail to Zagreb and Budapest. It takes approximately one hour to get to Graz, two hours to Ljubljana, three hours to Zagreb, and four hours to get either to Vienna or Trieste. By Plane

The closest airport to Maribor is Graz Airport, which is 60 kilometres away and has regular connections to Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt and Zurich. Hotel Habakuk has a special offer to delegates for a transfer with taxi from Graz Airport to Hotel Habakuk (85€ - see Booking Form). The cheapest way to reach Maribor from Graz Airport is by train. The train station (Flughafen Graz-Feldkirchen) is within walking distance of the terminal. Even though the railway line south leads straight to Maribor every two hours, it is necessary to change at the last station before the border (Leibnitz). Exceptions are international trains from Vienna to Ljubljana or Zagreb. A one-way ticket from the airport to Maribor costs around 20€ (see ÕBB Info).

Next closest airport from Maribor are Ljubljana Airport in Slovenia (153 km away). If you decide to land in Ljubljana Airport you could ask for a shuttle to Maribor (company ONEXPRESS +386 41 470 474 - cca. 50€ one way).

Next possibility is a flight to Vienna Airport in Austria. Vienna Schwechat International Airport is 2.5 hour drive from Maribor by car. It is the main international airport in the region and offers connections to virtually all parts of the world. The easiest way to get from Vienna to Maribor is by train. The journey takes between 3.5-4 hours and costs approximately 40 (one way).
